Both of these vehicles feature tri-zone automatic climate control that lets you and your passengers set individual temperature settings. There’s a few other things you’ll only find on the new Suburban. It also doubles as a cup holder for your second-row passengers. The new Suburban also features a 12-inch driver information center that’s larger than the Wagoneer’s 10.25-inch display.

This system supports wireless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, so you can stream music, answer calls, and look up directions from the 10.2-inch touchscreen. This full-size SUV also has a 4G LTE Wi-Fi® hotspot (data plan required) that supports up to seven devices, so you and your passengers miss nothing. 

Chevy offers the new Suburban with an available Bose® 10-speaker Surround with Centerpoint® system that surrounds you with concert-quality sound. It also has a rear-seat entertainment system with dual 12.6-inch LCD touchscreens mounted to the back of the front seats, ensuring an end to the “Are we there yet?” questions.

Over on the new Wagoneer, we’ll find the Uconnect® 5 NAV system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen. Like its Chevy counterpart, this infotainment system supports wireless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new Wagoneer also has a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that supports up to eight devices, one more than the Suburban’s Wi-Fi.

Teen Driver will also generate an in-vehicle report card to let you know how they did, allowing you to identify areas that need improvement. 

There are a few things you’ll only find on the new Wagoneer though. This full-size SUV features available parallel and perpendicular park assist that identifies suitable parking spots and maneuvers the vehicle into place for you with the touch of a button. There’s also intersection-collision assist that sends you alerts when it detects oncoming traffic at intersections and will even apply the brakes for you if necessary. Finally, the new Wagoneer offers traffic-sign recognition that uses vehicle-mounted cameras and real-time image processing to display current road signs on the driver information center.

When properly equipped, the new Suburban can achieve a 7,800-pound towing capacity.

Meanwhile, the new Wagoneer keeps things simple by only offering one engine: 

  • 5.7-Liter V-8 Engine with eTorque
    • 392 horsepower 
    • 404 pound-feet of torque

This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped, the new Wagoneer achieves a best-in-class maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds.

While the new Wagoneer may only offer one engine, it can be paired with one of three legendary 4×4 systems. The Quadra-Trac I® is a 4×4 system that’s always engaged and features a Selec-Terrain® traction-management system. The Quadra-Trac II® system also includes the Selec-Terrain traction-management system but adds a two-speed low transfer case. The last option is the Quadra-Drive® II automatic 4×4 system that switches between two-wheel and four-wheel drive whenever necessary. 

Both of these full-size SUVs feature an available adaptive air-ride suspension, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, and hill-start assist.
